In January of 2006 I sent a letter to Mr Chelio's resturaunt asking him about bringing my mother to his place to meet some of the players for her birthday. My mother is 74yrs old and has to be one of your biggest fans. I never expected Mr. Celio's to comtact me himself. I know how busy he is so I figured if I did, it would be in a letter or one of his staff. After being up sick all night, i had fallen asleep and I was half asleep when he asked for Deborah Gallimore (I thought it was a tetemarketer and I said she wasn't home and hung up. He called back and I wouldn't answer the phone. He left such a nice message and just laughted saying that I must not of known it was him. He told me he couldn't make any promises because it was a ways away but please wish your mother a happy birthday from him. I wanted to die. I was so embarrased. Worst than that was telling my mom what I had done. She almost cried. It ia now 5-13-2009 and I still have that message on my phone. I can't make myself erase it. I just wanted to know what a terrific guy he is.
I feel that way about all our Red Wings. We have the best team on the ice but more important what a great bunch of guys off the ice. You'll always be winners in my eyes every year. GO WINGS!!
P.S. Could you please tell me what I could do about someone mentioning my mothers name on tv?( Carole Keys ) The only game she ever missed was the final game last year Because she had knee surgery and was sedated. She dosn't let me live it down that I didn't tape it for her.
Thank-you
Deborah Gallimore
