On July 2nd the Red Wings announced signing free agent forward Marian Hossa to a on year deal.
The financial terms were not announced according to team policy, but TSN reports the contract is worth $7.4 million.

Also Ty Conklin was signed as a backup for Osgood. He spent the last season with the Penguins, and has been signed to the Red Wings For a year.
The Red Wings signed Brad Stuart for a four year contract, worth $15million.
With the signing, the Red Wings’ defensive corps from the Cup run remains intact. Nicklas Lidstrom and Brian Rafalski remain the top pairing with recently-resigned Andreas Lilja and Brett Lebda as the third pair. The team will carry eight defensemen, one being Derek Meech and the other expected to be current free agent Chris Chelios.
