Winning Tonight is the night for the first game in the semi final playoff series - Detroit Wings Vs Colorado Avalanche. Two weeks ago Stan Fischler from Game on said:
Normally, I’d side with a team like Detroit, which has enjoyed such a successful season, but the Red Wings have flaws. Goaltending (Dom Hasek-Chris Osgood) is old. The Red Wings’ best offensive players are soft, and Chris Chelios is simply too old to be that effective on defense. Granted, Nik Lidstrom is a Norris Trophy candidate and Brian Rafalski is having a career year, but that may not be enough to beat a well-balanced, well-coached Predators team led by Jason Arnott. THIS is my pick for the upset series. Nashville in six!
Well, here we are - Detroit in the semi final and Nashville watching on television! To recap the game history of the two rivals - This is the sixth time that these 2 teams have met for semi final series since 1995 - 1996,and the statistics for these games are a split down the middle. This season however Detroit has won in all the games against Colorado - So there is a good possibility of this streak continuing. the schedule for this series Date Time(ET) Teams Thur. April 24 7:30 pm Colorado at Detroit Sat. April 26 3 pm Colorado at Detroit Tue. April 29 10 pm Detroit at Colorado Thur. May 1 10 pm Detroit at Colorado Sat. May 3 1 pm Colorado at Detroit Mon. May 5 10 pm Detroit at Colorado Wed. May 7 TBD Colorado at Detroit
