Yeah. Punish Q for Pleau's inadequacies. Such is the life of an NHL hockey coach.
It was probably the worst goaltending matchup of the playoffs.

Well, if you ask me, both of them (Q and Pleau) should be gone. Q has been in St. Louis 5-6 years and it seems like once the team gets into the playoffs, he just can't do anything to motivate his players. I mean, this year, Blues were up 3-1 in the series and lost it. Last year they simply didn't show up against Wings. The year before Avs whooped them in 5 (granted Turek's play didn't help). In 2000, they lost game 7 against Sharks something like 6-0. Sure if players wanna lose, they'll lose no matter what, but if that's the case, then the coach doesn't control the team and he needs to go.
As for Pleau... He hasn't addresses Blues' goalie situation in what, 3 years now? Not a good thing to do.

I hope so. I think the Avs just might need a new coach. You know, someone with more than 20 games of experince as video coach or whatever the hell he was.

I have to disagree. I'm not the biggest Pleau fan in the world, but he did provide Q with plenty of talent to make the run. But where was the motivation? Where was the heart? And WHO is responsible? The GM?

In large part, yes. Quennville patched together a team of AHL players, NHL journeymen and a very little bit of quality youth and depth into a team that surprised the hell out of me and made the postseason. He had fairly abyssmal goaltending the whole year. Then MacInnis (his one above average defenseman) went down in the postseason. Pronger looked ok, but come on.
Pleau just hasn't managed his team's resources well at all. Now he's in the exact same position he was last year. He has no decent goaltending under contract (Osgood's deal expired this year). He has no scoring depth, unless one expects Boguniecki to pull another season out of his ass. MacInnis is another year older, and Pronger may or may not ever return to form. Weight and Tkachuk are still humongously injury prone. Etc etc etc.

Pleau should've been run out of town a couple years ago for completely revamping a lineup which was a goaltender away from the Cup finals, IMO. He turned that roster into his own rotisserie team.

What talented guys? I'll give you Doug Weight and Pavol Demitra. But the entire league knows about Keith Tkachuk and his playoff history. On defense, Pronger was far from 100 percent. Macinnis got hurt. As the series wore on, Jackman started looking like a rookie in the playoffs.
St. Louis needs world class goalie. They've had that need since Fuhr retired (and even he was over the hill). For how many years, have we been saying that St. Louis needs a world class goalie. And what did the Blues get? Osgood.

Osgood staying won't change the fact that the Blues have no decent goaltending.
The Blues need to call Buffalo about Ryan Miller or Martin Biron
